Don Baisden's Flight Line |

Don liked the way his 39 inch span Great Planes SU 31 Extreme
performed with an E-Flite 480 on three cells so much that he decided
to generate a larger version utilizing a new set of 49 inch wings
left over from a Magic Extra kit. The result is a 1.26 scale
(thanks to Kinko's) craft with an E-Flite Power 46 motor on five
4000 MAH cells with a 60 amp speed control.

Lil' Stick
Bill Proffitt scratch built this pretty "Lil' Stick" but found the
performance a bit lacking with the original OS 25 power. Don
Baisden turned it into what Bill calls a "Pocket Rocket" (unlimited
vertical) by installing an AXI-2820-12 motor. Four 3650 MAH Lipo
cells turn an 11x5.5 APC prop to to give the almost 4 pound plane
brisk performance.

Hyperion YAK 54
Don Baisden looks like a happy camper returning to the pits after
the first flight of his Hyperion YAK 54. The four pound bird is
powered by an AXI-4120-14 running on five 3650 MAH Lipo cells,
turning a 15x4 Zinger prop.

U-CAN-DO 60/90
Big does fly better but the batteries cost more. Don Baisden
replaced an OS 90 with an ultra thrust muffler with an AXI-4130-16
motor swinging a 16x8 APC prop on eight 4000 MAH Lipo cells.
There's no noticable overall performance difference with the
electric power but the after-flight cleanup is easier.
