Dec. 21, 2006 meeting minutes

Recreation Plantation Resort Rte. 466 Lady Lake, Fl

 

Call to order   6:04 P.M. 29 members present including new member Don Spindler and visitor Mort Wright

Minutes last meeting:  Minutes from Nov 16, 2006 membership meeting were posted on the club web site and made available at the field to be picked  by the membership  A motion was made to accept by Alex Oglivie  and seconded by Jim Soltysiak

Treasurer Report:   Ralph Savino read the treasurer’s report ending Nov.30th. A copy was presented to the Sect’ry and Pres. for safekeeping in the club Archives. A motion was made to accept as presented by Alex Oglivie and seconded by Jim Soltysiak

Safety report:   Three planes were lost at the field  1st  had a wing fall off,  the 2nd the pilot lost control, and the 3rd got shot down by someone turning on their transmitter on the same channel    Safety Officer Jack Hostetler reminds us that the By- Laws clearly states that ALL TRANSMITTERS are to be returned to the impound area when not actually being used to fly.  Don Spindler made a suggestion that when 4 or more planes are in the air each pilot must have a spotter

Committee Reports:  Membership: We have 154 members at present.  Swap meet:  31 tables, $10.00 each, 66 paid admissions, kitchen made $45.00 , 50-50.  Gross profit was $702.00, expenses $155.00, net profit $547.00.

Next years swap meet will be December 8, 2007, same location.

Website:  Up and running. 

Old Business:  Cement pads are progressing along nicely.  Anyone looking to buy license plates, sweatshirts, shirts or hats contact Ralph Savino.    Ralph Savino made a motion that instructors receive a $20.00 credit bonus for training new pilots.  Motion to accept made by Jack Hostetler and seconded by Ron Mitchell.

Election of Officers:  Jack Hostetler volunteered to be President and Harry Hovorka volunteered to be Vice President.  Tom Craig volunteered to be Treasurer.  Secretary Bill Antonio has notified the club that he will no longer be flying and, at the January meeting, there will have to be a new secretary appointed.

50/50:  $44.00 collected.  First prize was won by Buster Burt.  Second prize – Hazel Craig and Third prize – Tom Beachamp.

Adjourned:  6:43 P.M.  Motion made to adjourn by Lee Richter.  Seconded by Ron Mitchell.
