FEB. 16, 2006 MINUTES

 

Call to order   7:00 P.M. 29 members present Including 1 new member David S. Baker

Announcements::  There were no nominations for the Dumb Thumb award for January 2006.

Minutes last meeting:  The club web site is in a state of limbo at this time. Copies of the meeting minutes for the Jan. 2006  were  made available at the Feb. 2006 meeting and also at the field  A motion was made to accept the minutes as presented by Ron Nienhuis and seconded by Dick Pierce

Treasurers Report:  The Treasurers Report for the month ending Jan.31, 2006 was presented by Treasurer Ralph Savino and copies were given to Pres. Dennis Reeves and Sect.  Bill Antonio to be kept on record in the club Archives. A motion to accept as presented was made by Helen Lesnefsky and seconded by Ron Nienhuis.

Membership Report:  There are 107 paid members for 2006.  Treasurer Ralph Savino sent out approximately 60 letters reminding unpaid members to get back on the active list.  There are club shirts available for $19.00. We also have club license plates available for $19.00

Dale Jenkins is in the hospital in serious condition.  We are sending him a Get Well card signed by the membership.   Henry Schultz is also in the hospital in serious condition.

Field Safety:  Jack Hostetler is the new 2006 field safety officer. 

Flying for Community Service:  The Fruitland Park Cub Scout flying event has been put on hold because we had another break-in at the field and our Trainer Airplane and Radios were stolen.

Ant Patrol:  Ron Mitchell volunteered to treat the flying field and has used two full containers of pesticide There is another container in the shed for the use of members who come across any Ant Hills

New Business  There is a club 40 race at the ON TOP OF THE WORLD field on Sat. 18th located off  RT.200 west of Ocala.  This is a private club and members will have the chance to visit as spectators. The following Sat, Feb. the 25th 240 races will be held at Ocala flying club.  There is also a Jets over Lakeland will be held the first weekend in March. The club is 5-7 members short to fill out crews for mowing and weed whacking at the field.  Please call any club officer if you are available to help out
