January 10, 2008 SES Meeting Minutes
Leesburg Community Center 

Call to order:  7:00 P.M 

Sec. Report:  The December minutes were approved by vote.

Treas. Report:  Tom Craig – The treasures’ report was given and approved by the attending membership.

 Membership Report:  Ralph Savino – The current paid membership is 93 so far this year.  If you are planning on continuing your membership with the club please pay your dues a.s.a.p.  About 150-160 members are needed to sustain operating expenses and provide some cushion for emergencies, purchases, etc.

 Field Safety:  Dave Woodward/Pratt Carter – It was recommended that the club purchase and have available at the field an Emergency Safety Kit.  Pratt will look into this.

 Field Report:  Don Baisden – Additional protective fencing will be added to the N/S flight line area soon.  Handi-cap parking stops are being painted also at the N/S site.

 Election of officers – All 2007 officers were re-elected to serve another year and will continue through December of 2008.

 New Business:  Jack Hostetler – On March 8th, 2008 the club will hold a 25th year celebration fun fly.  This will be limited to members and their families only.  Events will be held and prizes awarded.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing.  Food and drink will be available.  Events will consist of timed taxiing around a balloon marked course and a spot landing contest.  The taxiing event will have two categories of entries, trike gear planes and tail draggers.  Prizes for both.

 There was discussion about having a centerline marked on the runway to help better our landings.  This will be looked into.

 Aircraft I.D. – AMA I.D. tags are available through Jack Hostetler.  (20 for $1.50)  Notice … AMA rules state that all aircraft must be properly identified with the owners name and address or AMA number either outside or inside of the model.

 Meeting Adjourned:  7:30 P.M.

 50/50:  Won by Ron Nienhuis.  $41.00

 Tech Session:  Pratt Carter and Tom Craig discussed differences between the Futaba and Spektrum 2.4 Ghz. radio systems.  Both are great with many features.  An excellent session.
