Recreation Plantation RV Resort

Call to order   6:00 P.M.  38 members present including 3 new members.  As of December 31, 2006 the club has 156 paid members.

Minutes last meeting  Minutes from the December 21, 2006 membership meeting were posted on the club website and made available at the field to be picked up by the membership.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the December minutes.

Treasurers Report  The year end checkbook balance was $.   Including the club's CD's, the total cash assets of the club is $.  Net income for 2006 after expenses was $.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the treasurer's report. For details contact Tom Craig.

Safety Report  Three losses were reported last week.  Early morning fog was a problem for flyers.  Be extra careful on these mornings.

Committee Reports  Membership has been dropping slightly over the last couple of years.  For the club to remain viable, it must retain a certain number of members to meet financial requirements, events, etc.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the membership report.

Old Business  The club website is up and running well.   The website received many good comments from the members present.  A motion was made and seconded to receive the new slate of the primary club officers.  (Jack Hostetler, President)  ( Harry Hovorka, Vice President)  (Tom Craig, Treasurer)  (Terry Merrill, Secretary)
Lock the gate...please be sure to lock the gate securely by giving the lock tumblers a few spins upon closing the clasp.  Otherwise the lock can be pulled open.  February 24th will be the club pylon race.  Anyone that can help should contact the President for information.

New Business  More time and meeting space is needed for our club meetings.  Currently we only have approximately 45 minutes to do everything.  President Hostetler has some new ideas on a more interesting meeting format but a more suitable facility is required.  If you have any ideas or suggestions please contact Jack.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the date of July 14, 2007 for having the Club 40 Race.  The distribution of club minutes was discussed.  Not all members have computers and thus cannot receive the monthly report.  The minutes are available at the field but many are apparently not aware of this.  A suggestion was made to do a general one time mailing to all members asking if they would like to receive their copy of the minutes mailed to them.  Those with computers would not need this.  The club would then only mail the minutes to those members requesting this service.  A motion was made and seconded to do this.  About 50% have computer access.  An older HB .61 glow engine was auctioned off during the meeting.  After "intense?? " bidding, Ralph Savino wound up purchasing  the engine with an offer of $12.

Adjourned  A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting  at 6:39 P.M.
