Field Safety  There was discussion regard work days at the field and whether planes should be in the air with workers on or near the active runway even if they were some distance away.  A motion was made and seconded to prohibit all flying while people were working on any runway for any reason including mowing activities.  This was passed by a vote of 16 - 9.

New business  Flight instructors are needed to help new members.  A flight instructor can receive $20 toward next years dues if he takes the new student to solo.  This can be repeated for each student.  Club Vice-President Harry Hovorka will be the coordinator of this effort.  A new shelter has been ordered to go over the concrete slab.  Cost was $2849.  It should be here in 2-3 wks.  A temporary shelter for the N/S runway will also be installed.  A work day was set for Saturday, March 17, 2007 starting at 9 A.M.
There was discussion as to how to contact non-email members when critical information needs to get to all.  A list will be made of non-email club members and volunteers will be asked to take up to three names each and call those members with the info.  If you can help, please contact Jack Hostetler, club President.  Regarding lawn mowers... a motion was made and seconded to purchase new mowers (2) rather than used.  Passed 17 - 14.  New meeting place and location for next month...Leesburg Community Center.  More info to follow.  Check the club web site.  It will cost $16/hr. with a two hour minimum.  The club will try it next month for one meeting to see if it would be acceptable.
