October 21, 2010 SES Meeting Minutes
Leesburg Community Center
- The meeting was called to order by President Don Neal at 1900 hours. Eighteen members were present.
- A motion was made seconded and passed to approve the minutes of the last meeting.
- The Treasurers report was given and accepted.
- The Membership Chair reported that membership is steady at 146.
- The field report was given by Don Baisden. He has been consulting with the county and a contractor to obtain electrical service at the clubs shelter. It would be done in three phases because of permitting problems. First phase is placement of a pole, breaker box and meter. Second would run wire to the blue container, and third would be to the shelter complete with outlets and fan hookup. The total cost will be $4350. A motion was made to allocate $5000 for the project. This was seconded and passed.
- Old business: The slate of officers for 2011 was discussed at some length. This will be formally presented at the November meeting.
- We need volunteers for the Swap Meet. Jobs will be assigned at the November Meeting. Those who have had jobs in the past will be able to have the same ones this year. It is important the SES members show up at the swap meet.
- There was discussion about the mowers and their repair. Money has already been allocated for the purchase of a trailer to haul the mowers to be repaired. Jim Soltysiak is to investigate trading the old mowers in for commercial types. In the meantime it was decided to get the old mowers repaired. Mowing teams are urged to slow down and be careful.
- The meeting was adjourned at 1950 hours.
Respectifully submitted H. Pratt Carter
