Subject: SES Field Shelter (Main)
A special board meeting was called by President Jack
Hostetler at the SES flying field May 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM.
The county has denied the club's application for
permit of the 18 X 58 all metal carport structure. The reason given was
because the size was larger than the previous structure (18 X 36) and would
therefore require a comprehensive environmental impact study and new site
plan. This would have to paid for by SES. If the club wishes to replace
the previous sized structure then it would be necessary to re-submit again
for the application for permit with the smaller size indicated.
The executive board decided to proceed with a "temporary
carport" similar to the structure on the N/S runway. This requires no
permit since the county views it as "temporary" and movable. The size
selected was 18 X 40. It will be erected in the center of the concrete
slab. Guy wires will be anchored in the slab for additional support on the
uprights. This can be done immediately and without interference. In view
of the difficulty and expense of obtaining yet another permit it was decided
to move ahead with the above described unit.
